Job Description:
Senior Developer


Our client in the Education Industry is seeking to appoint aa senior developer to join their team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

? Development management
o Be involved in strategic planning and design of development specification. o Give guidance to junior developers.

? Programming o Use design document to build program. o Work with project manager and analyst to develop the most accurate system possible.

? Database design

o Plan and design database to form foundation of system. o Perform data update to ensure systems are in sync. o Make updates to database structure to ensure data stays relevant to programming. o Adhere to implementation procedures.

? Testing and implementation

o Place programs on test system and allow analyst and PM to test. o Ensure that everything is tested. o Update tested system on live. o Do additional checks to ensure integrity.

? System error analysis o Try to recreate errors and either pass on to systems analyst or try to perform actions to remedy the error. o Sync new updates to live.

? Development and database support o Be available for queries regarding the system and database. o Restore data when requested.

? Security o Make regular backups of all coding to ensure risk of loss is mitigated.

REQUIREMENTS:

? BSc or B.Com degree in programming and/or related field.
? Ten years’ experience in relevant field.
? Programming/Systems/IT/Data related (advantageous)
? Essential computer literacy:
o MS Office suit
o SQL
o C#
o .Net
o HTML
o Java Script

? Fluent in English and Afrikaans.

Salary: R620K CTC
