Job Description:

* Control the flow of information and documentation between the Design Engineers, Project Engineers, System Control Engineers and Commissioning Team Leader
* Commission new and existing Protection, Metering, DC or SCADA installations where required
* Install and commission discipline specific equipment (protection /SCADA /metering /DC) on a scheduled basis as allocated by the Head of the Department
* Assist with maintenance and fault finding on Protection, Metering, DC or SCADA installations where required
* Take leadership responsibility for specific work during commissioning on major plant and key customer installations by applying advanced skills and experience
* Performs installation and commissioning activities in accordance with safety standards and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
* Ensure Site Acceptance Testing is done in accordance with the Company’s standards, procedures, directives, work practice, guidelines and policies
* Manage projects in the specialist field of expertise
* To ensure that as commissioned, drawings are updated to site specifics
* To ensure a high level of accuracy and integrity of information toward internal and external customers
* Eliminate any unnecessary project expenses
* To ensure a profitable project by adhering the project budget at all times

Minimum Requirements:

* B-Tech Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 4 Years relevant industry experience / National Diploma or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with a Minimum 6 Years relevant industry experience
* Must be a South African citizen
* Preference will be given to EE candidates
* Registered as Engineering Technologist with ECSA
* Project management and financial management
* Sound knowledge and understanding of discipline specific technology and technical skills (Protection / Metering / SCADA / DC Systems or Telecommunication)
* Computer literate in MS Office and IPAS
* Strong planning, organising and administration skills
* Good people and communication skills and an ability to interact with internal and external parties
* Must be able to work under pressure
* Willing to travel and work extended hours (when required)
