3. Job Outputs / Tasks

The incumbent will inter alia be responsible for the following:
Compliance, Governance and Assurance • Adhere to OHS Act and comply with company specific SHE
policies/procedures
• Ensure all business and departmental ops adhere/comply with corporate
statutory, legal requirements
• Ensure project results achieved according to set stds/objectives
• Manage risk and attend to discipline-specific problems
• Act as Custodian for SABS and statutory electrical requirements
• Facilitate electrical equip quality control
• Implement all std specs and control deviations
• Update all std specifications and safety stds
Consulting and Project Services • Provide expert tech support and direction to project teams
• Identify needs and support line mgmt with technical issues
• Increase awareness of tech advancements to ensure business
deliverables met
• Technical review to ensure technical integrity and quality of work
• Develop/coordinate/manage/conduct technical evaluations for projects
in various developmental stages
Continuous Improvement • Initiate CI initiatives leading to cost optimization
• Benchmark relevant best practice
• Ensure best practice in electrical reliability in related ops and
technologies applied across all BU's
• Implement TOC principles
• Liaise with other departments toward evaluating new technologies to
improve electrical capability and reliability to optimize throughput
• Ensure electrical systems maintained and optimized
Customer and Client Relationship Management • Support core business by ensuring appropriate stakeholder
relationships
• Manage internal and external relations to ensure that business needs
met and employees satisfied
• Interface with staff on other BU's within same core business and field
of expertise
• Represent the client at applicable forums
• Provide relevant and specialised support to applicable stakeholders
Performance Management • Adhere to systems and initiatives to drive performance excellence for
discipline
• Inspire and lead high-performance teams in discipline
• Implement successful change initiatives in discipline
• Coordinate optimal utilisation and sourcing of appropriate resources
(including external Specialist Consultants) for discipline
• Formal and informal mentoring of PIT's

maintenance procedures
• Execute/manage electrical investigations
• Evaluate relevant technical processes/documents
• Coordinate/manage energy demand across BU's in line with corporate
targets
