PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To provide Network/Software Engineering Support in the field of Command, Control and Communication.

CRITICAL PERFORMANCE AREAS
• Supply Network/Software engineering support to Command, Control and Communication technology programs for the SA Navy
• Assist with the drafting of specifications
• Establish, conduct and execute trial plans (also at sea)
• Converse with the client on technical and operational level
• Do integration, fault finding and evaluation of Command and Control Systems
• Test and evaluate subsystems and Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs)
• Do hardware and software design and implementation, including embedded software development and coding
• Have a sound understanding of network enabling technologies and modern Information Communication Systems (ICS)
• Integrate lower level components into radar and electronic warfare systems
• Do simulation and functional analyses of systems and subsystems

REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION

QUALIFICATIONS: BEng (Electronic Engineering)

EXPERIENCE: 3 to 5 years’ experience in electronic, digital and analogue hardware and software design, testing and fault finding, as well as design and execution of field experiments and analyses of data.

SPECIAL PROFICIENCY/SKILLS: Electronic design and development, embedded software development, application software development, network enabling technology insight, insight into Command, Control and Communication systems, good communications skills, self-motivated, and knowledge of C++, C# and Java.
