Our Client, an ISP in Durban is looking for a Senior Engineer to join their team.  The Key Performance areas of this position are primarily customer support which includes, but is not limited to, any and all day to day maintenance called on by our customers including general hardware and software support and or trouble shooting, scheduled and or procedural functions required and internet related product and services support, either on-site or off-site. You may also be required from time to time to fall in with after-hours support rosters to be mutually agreed from time to time.
 
Education:

• Relevant IT Certifications advantageous

 
Experience Required:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience
• Proactive support of customer on-site network, internet, hardware and software.
• Experience with all Microsoft desktop and server environments and software, active directory, file server, RDP/terminal services, share point
• Experience in all types of networks, TCP-IP, Gateway, user management and monitoring,
• Sound understanding of mail clients and services, including MS Exchange/hosted exchange, mail archiving
• Sound understanding of all types of internet connectivity, routers and wireless AP’s, as well as point to point wireless links
• Basic understanding and experience of LINUX, web design and VOIP systems, DNS records and servers
• Own reliable motor vehicle, presentable and good personal and communication skills
• Ability to self-diagnose, research and resolve issues.

 
You will be required, as soon as you are up to speed with our internal systems, to join the customer support standby rotation and at which time when it is your week on standby, you will be required to remain in the office on standby until 17h30 Monday to Friday that week as well as the Saturday from 08h00 to 12h00. The weekly standby allowance will then be claimable for each week you have done on standby. The primary purpose of this standby is to provide internet related telephonic support to our customers
