Requirements: skills, qualifications and experience required
CA(SA) with minimum 4 years’ experience in life insurance and financial services
Multi-management / asset management experience preferred
Hfm experience preferred

execution of the business plan and for governance and compliance at an operational level, preparation of management reports, provision and interpretation of financial data and predictive results, implementation of accounting processes, systems and controls and is responsible for product profitability analysis.

The focus of this role is to ensure robust financial reporting and financial management of the multi-management business.

Kpa’s

Financial analysis
Develops reports on and interprets cost drivers, margins, kpi’s and benchmarks.
Emphasis of the role is on interpretation and predictive results.
Provides commentary on financial results and implications and advises on opportunities and/or corrective action to be taken.
Prepares business plans and forecasts.

Financial control
Analyses and reports on variances.
Maintains suitable financial control environment.
Responsible for liaisons with internal and external auditors.
Ensure tax, legislative and statutory requirements are met.
Ensure adequate capital and liquidity is maintained.

Governance & compliance
Accountable for financial governance and compliance at an operational level in line with business policies.

Management reporting
Generates internal management reports to drive business decisions.
Interacts with business unit line managers on financial outcomes, expense trends, profitability, margins etc.
Provides reporting for group consolidation.
Provides financial assistance and training to line managers.

Team effectiveness
Balances own priorities with directing and motivating others.
Creates a climate for optimal performance.
Guides and directs staff to achieve operational excellence standards.
Individually accountable for others’ time, tasks and output quality, over periods of three months to a year.
Manages performance.
Plans & assigns work over periods of three months to a year.
Selects potential staff to sustain customer service delivery.
