Job Description:
Senior Financial Administrator

A well known Telecommunication company is looking for a Senior Financial Administrator to join thier organisation. This role is responsible for assisting with cashbook maintenance and reconciliation of balance sheet and income statement accounts.
Operations

Cashbook Maintenance:

Processing

Cashbooks should be updated daily
Cashbook processing should be completed by the second workday of the month
Control

Should ensure at all times that one signatory signed the payment requisition form
Where a pre-payment has been done, one should ensure that the pre-payment register has been updated, authorised and the necessary supporting documentation has been received.
Cheque Requisitions (Branches)

Ensure that cheque requisitions have been completed, signed and submitted (weekly) with required supporting documentation.
Bank Reconciliations

Complete bank reconciliations by the 3rd working day of the month
Cash Management:
- Keep an updated schedule of monthly payments other than debit orders (excluding creditors)
- Debit Orders

Keep an updated schedule of debit orders and tie back to monthly deductions
Keep an updated file with contracts and monthly invoices
Cell Phone Allowances

Keep an updated schedule of all the cell phone allowances, tie back to monthly payments and prepare accrual journal
- Submit these schedules monthly on the 3rd working day

Petty Cash

Control: Petty Cash should only be used when no other means of payment is possible or reasonable.
Control: Petty Cash can be used for groceries.
Control: Petty cash should be submitted and reconciled on a monthly basis and needs to be authorised by the Branch Manager and Financial Manager.
Control & Report: Where the guidelines of petty cash are not adhered to, the individuals will be personally held responsible for the moneys.
Proof of the monthly cash count should be checked and followed up
Petty Cash should be recorded by the 3rd working day of the month
Ensure that no fixed assets are purchased from petty cash
Ensure that no moneys relating to payroll are paid from petty cash
General Ledger

Reconciliation of specified balance sheet and income statement accounts
Identifying and preparing journals: Accruals, Corrections
Identifying and supporting cost saving opportunities

General:

Assist Financial Manager and Chief Financial Officer with any duties they may assign on an adhoc basis.
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

Cost effective allocation and use of company resources.
To assist the company to meet its revenue targets.
Responsible for cost management
Grade 12
Must have a minimum of 3 years Accounting experience
Knowledge and understanding of the telecommunications industry is advantageous
Basic accounting knowledge
Basic knowledge of all the financial cycles
Basic knowledge of the Financial Systems
