Senior Financial Functional Consultant

This company is part of a large and reputable, well established JSE listed group of companies in South Africa, they operate in a number of industries providing full IT solutions to all industries ranging from Logistics, Automotive, FMCV, Financial, Retail Petro-Chemical and more. Hiring for an experienced Senior Financial Functional Consultant with a minimum of 5 years of experience relevant to this position including 3-4 years consulting experience preferred. You will be primarily responsible for capturing, analysing and estimating customer business requirements and translating them into Oracle JDE Enterprise One ERP solution architecture that fit within the customer’s business environment and business objectives. You will lead complex functional/process analysis and facilitate workshops with senior customer resources and subject matter experts. Captures and understands client’s business requirements and specifies system, application or process designs.

You should also be in involved in a bid process in mapping the client requirements to the base product functionality to present a product fit. You should lead the complex functional analysis and review the solution overview, functional designs, technical designs, configuration within the project. You are overall contributor to deliver a fully-functioning solution to the client.

You will liaise with business analysts for the requirements, management for the estimations and high level planning, functional architects, technical architects, designers, developers, product team, and test teams for the solution implementation, during the entire phase of a project implementation.

An experienced consulting professional who has a broad understanding of solutions, industry best practices, multiple business processes or technology designs within a product/technology family. Operates independently to provide quality work products to an engagement. Performs varied and complex duties and tasks that need independent judgment, in order to implement Oracle products and technology to meet customer needs. Applies Oracle methodology, company procedures, and leading practices.

Job Summary

Leads teams of designers and developers throughout the implementation life cycles to produce analysis and designs for new and ongoing projects demonstrating:

In depth knowledge of functional domains
In depth knowledge of the overall architecture of JDE
Expertise in supporting Testing, Defects Analysis and Fixing in sync with product development and support
Demonstrate extensive knowledge of the JDE Enterprise One solution, and keep abreast with the product roadmap.
Good understanding of Oracle technology

Responsibilities

The ERP functional consultant must be able to cover the following tasks:
Participate and manage the delivery of the JDE financial suite during JDE ERP implementation projects
Organize and Conduct formal workshops with the client displaying knowledge of the application and the business environment in defining the customer’s needs
Influence the design maximizing the adoption of the Oracle solution
Configure the application according to the design decision
Design and test the integration with other systems
Assist software developers with the creation of detailed design specifications for product extensions
Support the data migration process from a functional point of view
Take the lead on understanding new products or new features
Participate to sales phase and support customer qualification and project scope definition
Define implementation Roadmap and produce project estimates with project managers
Support of customer especially in SLA matters
Assisting with the driving out of workshops, solution configuration and solution implementation to service the client requirements
Overseeing and from time to time also updating and or creating required documentation relating to customer training and or support and or customer implementation or upgrade
Be active in the delivery of training of the devised client based training
Principle driving role in data gathering for the implementation or upgrade projects
Principle driving role in conducting and collating net requirements for workshops for designing of solutions for implementations / upgrades
Providing the key supports go live of projects
Communication to all team members throughout the engagement
Providing appropriate and professional feedback to clients of all areas of support or other assistance as has been provided
Be involved in the development of project plans and timelines for deployment and implementation of solutions relating to the given discipline
Be key in maintaining adherence to the project plan and scope of work
Be key in managing customer relationship and communication throughout the engagement
Assigns tasks to the implementation teams within the given discipline
Be instrumental in assisting the coordination of services to meet project timelines and to meet customer goals and objectives
Assesses and facilitates responses to implementation issues
To work with customers and train customers to ensure they have an understanding of the products processes and tools
To be responsible for monitoring and maintaining budgets and meeting engagement scope of work
Be involved and drive out the test scheduling and execution in the given discipline
Provide key user training
Provide go-live support and post go-live support
Be aware of and provide key support in escalated projects
Communicating clear instructions to team members
Listening to and acting on team members' feedback
Monitoring team members' participation to ensure training and expertise is put to use, assess if additional training is needed
Keeping abreast with the changes and innovations of the JDE functional offering and passing these onto team members
Being aware of the deadlines and commitments for the team for the given project or assignment, and assure that the team reaches their objectives and deadlines
Carry out research to reveal or explore new methods of handling functions within the functional team.
Skills and Experience

Education level/Qualifications: University degree or equivalent diploma in relevant field would be advantageous.
Certification in JDE financial suite would be advantageous
At least 5 years professional experience in ERP implementation projects as functional consultant.
Was lead consultants in at least 2 end to end implementations or upgrade projects
Strong knowledge of Financial Processes and ERP solution
Ability to understand, articulate and address business issues, business drivers and needs
Able to plan and conduct design sessions.
Able to influence direction of senior management in design sessions.
Demonstrates expertise to deliver functional and technical solutions on moderately complex customer engagements.
May lead the solution design and implementation aspects of engagement(s) ensuring high quality, integrated software solutions within constraints of time and budget.
May act as the team lead on projects, providing coaching, guidance and feedback to develop skills of team members.
Effectively consults with management of customer organizations.
Participates in business development activities.
Develops and leads detailed solutions for moderately complex projects
Very good presentation and communication skills.
