Senior Front End Developer Location: Cape Town CBD
Salary: R33k per month
Duties:
- The Senior Front End Developer will report to the Head of User Experience Design.
- Deliver best-in-class HTML5/CSS3/JQuery front-end code across multiple devices
- Develop and test across multiple browsers, platforms, and devices
- You will spend the majority of your time directly building and implementing the front-end components of our design strategy.
- You will be working on continuing, and improving on, the guidelines set out in our front-end component library, and making sure these guidelines are carried throughout the project lifecycle.
- Work multifunctional team, and manage time across multiple projects and tasks in a deadline-driven, team environment.
- Participate in team discussions about technical best practices and help teams identify optimal technical solutions.
Methodology - Mobile-first, semantic, and modular front-end design.
Requirements: - Minimum 5 years in a front-end development position.
- Possess an advanced knowledge of web and mobile platforms with a mobile first approach and adhere to principles of progressive enhancement
- Understanding of HTML5 trends and limitations for web and mobile, with approaches/ideas to flex those boundaries.
- Understand when HTML5 mobile apps are appropriate as opposed to native applications or how the two can work together as a Hybrid solution.
- Understand agile methodology and instil best practices into the process.
- A self-starter that is able to collaborate actively with others in a cross-functional team
- Results-driven, able to initiate and lead projects; work autonomously and multi-task in a dynamic environment
- Exceptional knowledge of the latest best practices, design principles and patterns
- Extensive experience in front-end web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JS, etc.)
Must have experience with: - CSS systems such as LESS and SASS to compile style files
- PHP include function to manage common elements
- Subversion or other version control system
- Developing with a content first approach.
- Standards-compliant code
