Senior Group Manager, CWIP & Asset Management (Centurion)

The person with minimum 12 -15 years of working experience in all Financial disciplines, who will be responsible for Capital operations of one of the larger Telecommunications clients in South Africa. The operations include managing the complete team handling various sections of Capital and Asset management operations for the client. Dealing with the client directly and managing the expectations in line with the company’s business guidelines. The Capital operations include, but not limited to, end to end support and enablement for the capital environment as well as Shared Services Centre (SSC). The focus will be on the coordination of capital activities to ensure projects and assets being created according to statutory requirements, but with strong financial control and data integrity. Provide Reporting and Business analytics insight for all SSC Capital Work in Progress (CWIP) and Asset Management (AM) streams. Maintain policies and procedures and ensure successful implementation and compliance to business processes. Oversee virtual teams and monitor their performance.

Overall Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

• Establishing controls in Capital and Asset Management operations to achieve the desired team performance.
• Managing Team performance through required support and training.
• Direct communication with client for reporting, updates and feedback.
• Building Synergy within the team and across other parts of client operations.
• Engaging within the company for various inputs and reporting related to client engagement.
• Managing the team size for the best possible optimization and motivation.
• Improvement in the performance as per client expectations and agreed SLA’s.
• Building the culture towards innovation and creativity within the team.
• Planning for operations excellence.
• Planning training for team members in consultation with Client and internal teams.
• Support finance strategy in line with the business plan, policies and process implementation in specifically CWIP and AM.
• Manage and assist client Business Units as a true Business Partner in their financial performance cycle.
• Understand who key stakeholders are and build collaborative relationships with key stakeholders in order to understand their information requirements.
• Constantly review operational processes for business improvement potential and contribute to BU performance through innovation and suggested improvements.

Knowledge:

The incumbent must possess:

• Hands on operations experience in the Capital and Asset Management operations in client environment.
• Minimum 7 years hands-on experience in Capital and Asset Management in telecommunications or similar environment.
• Should understand Capital and Asset Management processes in detail.
• Must have exposure to ERP work environment from Project System function perspective and should have worked on SAP for at least 2-3 years in career.
• Should have very strong functional understanding of the various processes like Project Management and Asset Register management to be able to enhance current processes continuously.
• Strong financial/accounting skills
• Negotiation and communication skills are mandatory.
• Performance management skills.

Educational Qualifications:

Mandatory:

• Graduate / Post graduate Financial Accounting or similar qualification
• Diploma in Accounting (or similar)

Preferred:

• MBA (or similar)

Work Experience:

• Must have at least a Minimum 7 years in Capital and Asset Management in telecommunications sector (or similar) with at least 5 years management experience

Technical Expertise:

• SAP functional exposure on PS module is a must
• Knowledge of processes in Project and manufacturing environment.
