Looking for an energetic, assertive self starter with a strong retail orientation to be part of the HR and Operations team. The successful incumbent for this challenging position will be responsible for implementing and maintaining HR initiatives within retail stores.

Participate in and influence and implement the HR strategy in alignment with operational HR & business strategy through close partnership and involvement with the HR and operations teams
Provide a one-stop HR service to business through strong relationships with relevant business partners
Implement and manage change within the business unit
Demonstrate sound knowledge and insight on legislative and compliance matters and provide front-line advice on ER issues
Ensure effective communication, understanding and implementation of HR policies and procedures Involvement and guidance on relevant and appropriate recruitment practices
o Training needs identification, development, implementation, reporting and evaluation;
o Facilitating and presenting ad-hoc skills development and training initiatives;
o Facilitation of career & succession planning;
o Managing the talent management process.
o Implementation and monitoring the performance management process.
• Effectively manage HR administration (HR reports, basic employee files, ER files, etc)
• Participate in ad-hoc HR projects and initiatives

Requirements include:
• Relevant HR qualification
• Knowledge of applicable HR and skills development legislation
• Proven experience within a HR environment
• A strong team-orientation with the ability to use own initiative
• Proven experience in handling ER matters
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
• Flexibility and ability to cope with change
• Excellent organisational, planning skills and attention to detail
• An understanding of the retail business would be advantageous
• Proven practical problem solving skills
• A valid drivers licence (essential)
