A parastatal seeks a Senior Information Technology Officer to provide reliable and quality ICT functionality for the day-to-day operation of the organisation by planning, identifying, managing, delivering and supporting appropriate IT technologies/ services for the organisation.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Network Administration and IT Security
• Business Continuity Planning
• IT Procurement and Asset Management
• Manage the provision of HelpDesk\User support facilities
• Office Management

Functional Outputs/activities:

• Internal: All business units, Management and Executive
• External – National: Government departments, private companies, consultants, universities, city councils (range from secretaries to MDs/CEOs)
• External  -International: Government departments, private companies, consultants, universities, city councils (range from secretaries to MDs/CEO)

Qualifications:

• BCom Honours in Information Systems Technology or equivalent BSc degree

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an Information Technology Management position.

Skills:

• Project management skills
• Technical management skills including computer literacy: Knowledge of Windows / Linux servers, software e.g. VIP Payroll, Pastel, Windows Server, Windows O/S, Linux O/S, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory, VMware, networks and all related infrastructure, printers, telephony etc are essential.Cross functional expertise required as opposed to just specialisation
• Communication skills: Ability to facilitate transfer and application of knowledge
• People, networking and leadership skills
• Negotiation skills: Facilitation skills
• Analytical ability
• Financial administration: Basic financial/bookkeeping skills
• Contract management: Experience with managing Service Level Agreements
