Job description
Provide design and project leadership in a self-directed manner in all aspects of the interior architecture design process – including preparation of presentation materials, design in the schematic design phase, design development phase with strong 3D visualization, review of contract documents and construction administration activities within an established budget, schedule, site and programmatic requirements. The senior Interior Architecture design position is the project design lead for the project, and works closely with the Design Director to establish and execute the overall project design vision from concept to completion.
Education:
• Bachelor's or Master's Degree from an accredited University in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architectural Design.
Experience:
• 7-10 years of multi-family and hospitality interior design experience
• Strong understanding of design principals, theory and the commercial/hospitality construction documentation progress
• Adept at design communication using tools such as hand sketching and Sketchup to communicate and test design ideas in a collaborative studio environment
• Experience in creating a design and evolving it through the project design phases with multiple decision-makers and stake-holders
• Leading the project team through design and working with our technical studio closely during construction documentation and on-site construction administration
• Familiar with building codes, accessible design,
• Has the ability to inspire our clients and our teams with innovative interior architectural and FF&E design
Required Skills:
• Strong understanding of design principals and theory, and ability to translate concepts to live-able, build-able, interior spaces
• Strong appreciation for lifestyle design, and a multi-disciplinary approach to design where interior environments overlap with Architecture and Landscape Architecture
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCad & Microsoft Office
• Strong visualization and communication skills including sketching and SketchUp
• Strong in problem solving, time management, presentation and communication skills
• Strong graphic skills with working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat
• Excellent communication skills with colleagues, teammates, vendors and clients
• Excel and demonstrate as you lead by example with a collaborative & professional work ethic, and con-do attitude
• Flexibility to manage multiple deadlines as the project coordinator for multiple projects/clients in various stages of development.
Proven experience in motivating and inspiring others is essential.
