A Senior Java Developer position available for a 6 month contract with one of the leading financial companies in the Johannesburg North area. They are looking for people who are driven, self-managed and hard working.

Responsibilities:
• Be part of a development team responsible for:
o Implementing quality code changes initiated by customers (support) or product management (development).
o Be able to perform Team Leader roles as well
o Be able to work closely with analysts, architects, technical leads, documenters and testers to deliver high quality product to a specified timescale.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Degree or equivalent tertiary qualification with a computer science major from a recognized university.
• Banking experience advantageous
• Minimum of 7 years commercial experience developing software
• Java:
o Minimum 5 years Java experience with experience in least JDK 1.6
o Experience in Spring development
o Must have experience developing unit tests
o Experience in application system development, and not only Web/Mobile applications
o Web Services (REST), RMI, JMS and/or CORBA knowledge advantage
o Oracle/Sun Java Certification advantageous
