Our JHB client in the banking industry are looking for a Senior Java Developer to join their dedicated team.

You will be responsible for the development of Java, J2SE, J2EE applications, business objective support and providing guidance on the software development lifecycle stages on all levels (concept, design, testing) work on applications (new and existing) and enhance websites and infrastructure.

You will also be required to analyse, design and create component based applications within the web delivery environment which will include introduction to the application layer, modelling methods and object orientated design, coding and strategy approaches to application combination.

This being a senior position, you will mentor junior developers and do practical coding.

To be considered for this position it is necessary to have a BSc degree (Computer Science/Engineering/Mathematics), at least 5 years’ experience using Java (software development, app design) and at least 4 years’ experience using app servers such as Oracle (8i/9i), SQL Server, Jboss, Tomcat, etc. and at least 4 years of technical work in a team setting doing programming. Candidates who are Sun Certified Professionals are wanted for this position!
