Job Purpose:
• Teach in the following big four areas of Accounting: Accounting, Internal Auditing; Cost Management Accounting; and Auditing.
• Teach at postgraduate level in the Masters and Doctoral qualification through supervision of students, as well as teaching Statistics if required.
• Published articles in high impact factor journals and peer reviewed journals.
• Conduct scholarly research and applied research.
• Conduct community engagement which contributes to improving the quality of teaching in the School of Accounting and Faculty of Business and Management Sciences, and that increased research outputs.
• Contribute to the department, school and Faculty research, community engagements, teaching and learning committees.
• Provide leadership to manage a group of academics in a subject field to ensure that administrative duties such as assessments, marks are done in accordance to the university policy.
• Contribute to the circulation project of the School and Faculty.
• Perform academic administration of all the courses and postgraduate students in a professional, effective and efficient way.
• Teach any subject allocated by the Head of Department to teach.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
• A Doctoral degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce field or CA SA.
• A track record of research leadership in the Accountancy sub-disciplines.
• At least four (4) years relevant experience in lecturing at higher education institutions OR work in the Industry.

• Teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Postgraduate research supervision of not less than 6 students.
• At least a minimum of one high quality research publication in an accredited journal per year.
• An interdisciplinary research and publication record which would enable the candidate to identify and drive cross faculty initiatives.
• Mobilizing research resources such as grants.
• Mentorship of junior staff or emerging researchers /scholars and students.
• Academic administration.
• Curriculation of academic programmes or qualification.
• Design capacity building programmes for researchers and postgraduate students.
