Senior Legal Advisor - Gauteng
Salary: R40-50k dep on experience

Minimum Requirements:
• Grade 12
• B Com (Law); LLB or any other tertiary legal qualification
• Admitted attorney
• 5- 8 years’ experience in a legal environment
• With 2-3 years at a senior level
• Exposure to logistics environment
• HR Policies and Procedures
• Knowledge of the Logistics Industry
• Knowledge of Internal Policies and Procedures
• Knowledge of relevant legislation
• Interpretation of FAIS / Compliance would be advantageous
• Knowledge on collection processes
• Position based in Boksburg/Jetpark surrounds

Key Objectives:
Develop Legal Framework and Plan
• Develop and implement the Legal framework for the Client
• Define and promote legal practices within the Client
• Develop and implement legal business plan aligned to the Client’s business plan
• Obtain resources for implementation of business plan
• Monitor implementation of business plan and report on deviations

Develop and Implement Legal Policies, Processes and Procedures
• Develop and implement legal policies, processes and procedures to be utilized by all of the
Clients business unit
• Develop measures to monitor the application of legal norms, policies and procedures to ensure conformity and uniformity
• Develop measures to monitor the application of risk management strategy
• Provide input necessary for the review of the Client’s legal policies, processes and procedures

Contract Management
• Develop contracts on behalf of the Client
• Review contracts, tenders and other legal documents on behalf of the Client’s business units
• Implement the contract management framework developed across the Client
• Implement quality assurance guidelines on contracts, tenders and other legal documents between the Client and third parties
• Partake in negotiations between the Client and third parties

Provide Legal Advice
• Provide advice on legal and contractual documentation affecting the Client
• Compile and present a legal opinion on internal and external disputes involving the Client
• Provide legal, contractual and regulatory advice to the various business units of the Client
• Provide advice on the prosecution and defence of all actions for or against the Client in all courts and before any tribunal, commission, administrative organ, structure, etc
• Brief external attorneys to initiate and prosecute actions to protect the Client’s interests, including preparing pleadings, briefs, oral arguments, trial and settlement negotiations.
• Select and manage Legal panel.
