Job Description:
The incumbent is responsible for the management and administration of all legal related processes in conjunction with the Company Secretary and in line with the existing protocols.

Our Client is a leading agricultural business that has been participating successfully in the grain and food value chain of southern Africa,

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- provide top-quality efficient legal support, which include drafting, reviewing and finalising contracts;
- assist in maintaining an effective contract management system;
- formalise standard template contracts, including the management of any updates to such standard templates;
- assist business units with advice on legislation and alignment of business processes and contracts in accordance with legislation;
- appoint and manage external legal service providers cost effectively and in a responsible manner;
- management of any related litigation and disputes;
- provide training to business units and departments regarding any new or amendments to applicable legislation;
- provide regular written reports to the Company Secretary;
- management of material and critical matters assigned to the Senior Legal Advisor;
- manage legal costs in accordance with internal budgets;
- train/mentor Legal Advisors; and
- attend to ad hoc legal enquiries.
- the suitable candidate must at least have a commercial law degree (LLB, BComm or BA);
- be an admitted Attorney or Advocate;
- LLM, CPrac, CProf, HDip in contracts law or any other post graduate qualification will count towards recommendation.

- at least five (5) years’ experience in a commercial or contracts department of a reputable law firm or as an in-house legal advisor in a large corporate environment providing commercial and contracts legal support;
- good communication skills and good organisational and interpretation abilities; and
- must be fully bilingual (Afrikaans and English).
