My client is looking for a candidate who can function as a Senior Manager in the Group Finance department reporting to the Chief Financial Controller, meeting the required criteria.

Key Responsibilities:

This role is responsible for the operational side of the Group Finance function.


FINANCIAL CONTROL
o Responsible for the following financial cycles including all processes and controls: payroll, creditors, cash book, fixed assets, treasury, forex, petty cash
o Authorisation of general ledger month end journals
o Authorisation of payments.
o Authorisation of monthly payrolls
o Review of monthly general ledger reconciliations
o Execution of procurement policy
o Regular fraud awareness and controls sessions with staff

PROJECT MANAGEMENT
o Responsible for all projects in finance including new systems, automation of processes, upgrades of systems, improvements

REPORTING
o Review of monthly Expense statements per executive area for management packs
o Review monthly commentary on expense variances for management packs
o BEE reporting on procurement

YEAR END
o Manage year end processes relating to fixed assets and staff costs from Trial Balance to Financial statements
o Liaison with internal & external auditors

BUDGET
o Preparation & review capital expenditure and staff costs annual budgets and forecasts and strategic plans
o Preparation of reports using Excel, Great Plains and PM10

AD HOC
o Assistance with technical, audit or accounting queries and implementation of new IFRS
o Assisting with the preparation of technical papers on new IFRS’ impact on PPS
o Assisting with the analysis of accounting impact on the Group of new business ventures
o Assisting the Chief Financial Controller with ad hoc tasks
o Maintaining Delegation of Authority document
o Financial modeling when required
o Implementation of annual short term insurance renewal as part of committee.

CA(SA)
• At least 3 years post article experience in financial services / finance operations preferable
• People management experience non-negotiable
• Proven track record of growth in career by way of self-development
