This individual is responsible for supporting the Renew South Africa go to market strategy, the delivery of integrated marketing and brand alignment, and communication plans across all customer touch points. In addition, the role is responsible for creating consistent messaging across acquisition/retention, product development and business development initiatives and press announcements. The position is responsible for collaborating and coordinating with the NRG Renew strategic marketing and communications teams in the US, the NRG Renew South Africa office and the South African marketing and public relations agencies. The individual must have a strong understanding and command of online/social media, direct marketing, public relations, community involvement, advertising and brand management as well as strong local media relationships in the energy and business fields.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
• Advise and collaborate with North American teams on strategy development for NRG Renew South Africa, supporting and executing marketing communication plans to deliver superior prospect & customer engagement and integrated messaging and marketing strategy.
• Collaborate with channels including North American Marketing & Communications, Legal, Regulatory, Branding, Sales & Business Development to deliver superior awareness of NRG Renew South Africa, lead generation and eventually customer engagement. Branding support will be key as we acquire companies and need to re-brand or promote them as NRG Renew South Africa.
• Ensure all channel activities support defined messaging and brand strategy to create a consistent message and image for NRG Renew South Africa as prospects are introduced to us and customers become engaged with us.
• Create, manage and implement strategic, multi-faceted external communications programs and campaigns, including events/speaking engagements, announcements and press releases, blogs, and other content
• Serve as point-of-contact with South Africa media community, including managing print, online and broadcast media engagements.
• Manage deliverables and support local agency relationships for NRG Renew South Africa and oversee creative, marketing and communications products developed. Provide direction to agency teams, fostering and managing relationships with planners, account managers, writers, designers, and other local stakeholders related to or within NRG Renew South Africa.
• Maintenance and follow-up after each major launch to ensure continuous improvement of our integrated strategy and plans for the NRG Renew South Africa efforts.
• Collect and analyze internal/external data to identify market trends and potentials, user biases and preferences and provide recommendations based on findings to North American strategy teams.
• Understand and communicate NRG Renew South Africa local perceptions within the marketplace and make adjustments as necessary to deliver on the approved strategy for the company.
• Assist sales, business development and executive staff with any marketing or communications needs as needed. Ability to respond and react quickly while staying true to NRG and NRG Renew goals and objectives is key to success in this role.
• Offer recommendations when opportunities and issues arise and act on them swiftly and proficiently once approved.
• Communicate regularly with North American NRG Renew strategic marketing and communications counterparts to keep them updated and informed on NRG Renew South Africa activities and results.
• Lead local trade show, conference and event activities including researching and recommending appropriate shows to attend, registering, staffing, coordinating all show activities/duties, creating trade show booths, graphics and materials as necessary and measuring and reporting on show success.

Education:
BS/BA in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Liberal Arts or a related discipline from an accredited four-year college or university.

Experience:
7+ years in marketing or communications in high-tech, energy, telecommunications or service-related industries marketing to businesses or governments entities.
PR and/or Advertising agency experience is strongly preferred.
