Job Description:

Manage projects and product support services
Oversee assembly and field testing and recommend corrective action where appropriate
Setup of engineering tests
Verify designs through field testing and mathematical means
Use conceptual and strategic solutions to solve engineering problems
Conduct training and develop other engineers to ensure compliance with global standards for design, safety and engineering best practices
Develop and improve engineering processes used in design, develop, maintain and support on components, products and services
Supervise a team of Engineering employees
Liaise with suppliers in connection with changes and new requirements
Liaise with clients regarding problem areas and new equipment
Hold meetings addressing changes to existing or new regulations
Conduct quality audits
Plan and perform engineering evaluations and review designs for compliance purposes
Document management
Change management
Set up projects (Customer Improvement and Safety) indicating technical specifications

Minimum Requirements:

BSc in Engineering (in a relevant discipline)
Must have a professional registration or a membership with a committee or technical society
Must have 5 years experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
Minimum of 8 years in design and machine applications within the mining industry
Must have project management experience (certifications and/or practical experience)
Experience in structural design in heavy equipment and experience in diesel engine driven mining equipment
Experience in hydraulic system design and failure modes effects analysis
Previous participation in implementing Lean Engineering principles and effective Change Management implementation
Must have experience in cross-functional leadership assignments
Computer literate (Proficient in MS Office and CAD tools e.g. Inventor)
