A Cape Town based multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy is on the hunt for a highly skilled Mechanical HVAC Building Services Engineer to work as the second in command in their mechanical building services unit. You will be working alongside the Mechanical Building Services Director and will be the Lead HVAC Engineer on cutting edge commercial projects including shopping malls, airports, luxury apartments and hotels.



Qualification:

BSc/BEng/BTech: Mechanical Engineering

Pr. Eng/Pr. Tech Eng (essential)



Skills & Experience:

Attend Design and Progress Meetings with Clients and Consulting Team

Design HVAC systems to meet SANS & ASHRAE regulations

Perform HVAC engineering calculations, i.e. Heat Loads, Psychometrics, Sizing of Ducts, Diffusers, Grilles, Louvres, Fans, Sound attenuators, Air Filters

Design for HVAC DX Package Units, DX Split Units, VAV, VRV Systems, Chilled Water, Toilet Extraction, Kitchen Extraction, Ventilation, Heat recovery

Manage Project Finances: Budgeting, VC’s, VO’s, Fees, Cost Reports, Fee Claim forecasts

Compile Tender Documents, evaluations and recommendations

Produce Tender and Construction Drawings. Amend ongoing changes via the drawing office

Monitor Quality of HVAC installations and submit reports

Close-out of Projects: Commissioning Checks, O+M Manuals

Train and guide Junior Mechanical Engineers



Job Description:

You will be responsible for the management of multiple HVAC projects. Attend design and progress meetings, and design HVAC systems to meet SANS & ASHRAE regulations. Other responsibilities will include HVAC engineering calculations, compile tender documents, and monitor HVAC installations as well mentoring Junior Mechanical Engineers.
