Job Description

Optimization of the plant and processes, by constantly evaluating process performance and doing surveys to establish improvements
Identify whether grade inconsistencies are due to metallurgical, operational or maintenance related, thus ensuring action is taken / setting adjustments made
Supervise quality of products, analyse grade consistency and ensure that samples are taken according to company practice / procedure
Research and assess new technologies which could increase performance of process and equipment
Oversee variances between lab and plant samples and make the necessary adjustments
Finding solutions to any process and metallurgical problems.

Minimum Requirements

Degree in Chemical Engineering / Extraction Metallurgy
2 - 5 years experience in the Mining Industry as a Metallurgist
Proficient in MS Office and MS Visio
Needs to be physically fit and will be required to attain a Medical Fitness Certificate
Valid drivers licence
