A company based in the Sandton area, has a position available for Senior .NET Software Developer.

The successful person will be responsible for Operational and Procedural functions and all interfaces
Develop improvements for existing processes
Support (issue resolution) existing software applications
Review and understanding of project scope, requirements, project design and IT development cycle
Coding of new software applications and/or the modification of existing software applications
The role will focus on the resolution of user issues and requests as well as maintenance of systems and related interfaces
The person will need to work in a team with other .NET Developers within boundaries of strict project deadlines
Support time to correct software bugs
Respond quickly to critical issues of newly created or modified applications
Develop coding standards and adhering to the standards
Conduct unit testing and system testing
Document technical design and code
Adherence to System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and contribution to updating the relevant procedure, processes, standards and guidelines to the SDLC
To participate in all activities of the SDLC with a greater focus on development, testing and implementation
Maintain existing applications/websites Implement new solutions into existing websites/applications (primarily Microsoft Based) Multitask between regular task requests, small projects and work as a team on larger project
Assist in conversion to newer technologies
Work with all popular web browsers

Requirements
Relevant Degree or Diploma in IT
At least 7 years work experience
At least 5+ years .NET experience (C#, ASP.Net or VB.Net)
Workflow products
Solid proficiency with Microsoft .NET and other Microsoft platforms, products and tools i.e. coding
Demonstrated history of delivery of completed projects
Documentation skills, i.e. the standard and quality of documents
Windows Communication Foundation
Database experience (SQL server 2005-2008)
Relational database design and implementation
Stored procedures, views and triggers
SharePoint (MOSS)
Crystal Reports experience
SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) experience
HTML and Web-services
Web 2.0 technologies
Visual Studio 6.0, Visual Studio .NET
Relational Database design
