Senior Online Content Producer
Location: Woodstock, Cape Town
Salary: R25k per month
 
Purpose of the Role:
Responsible for the ideating, planning, writing and publishing of high quality written content for mobile websites targeting young people across Sub-Saharan Africa.

Requirements:
  • BA degree or graduate diploma in English, communications, marketing, journalism, advertising
  • Experience in producing mobile-optimised content for the development, charitable or educational sectors.
  • Experience with content management systems, Google Analytics, Facebook Insights
  • Technical/design literacy with respect to web development & mobile
  • You do not need to be a subject matter specialist, but should have the intellectual ability and curiosity to engage with topics including sexual and reproductive health, gender equality, livelihoods, education, digital and financial literacy.
  • The Senior Online Content Producer will report to the Head of Content and work closely with Community Managers, Project Managers and UX designers.
  • For this role, you may be required to create content for sites covering the following topics:
  • Gender Equality – Nigeria
  • Civil society and advocacy – Nigeria
  • Sexual and Reproductive Health - Zambia
  • Financial Literacy - Uganda

  • Work closely with expert advisors where applicable to ensure publication of accurate and reliable content

  • Contribute to improvement of Content Management System in collaboration with UX designer & developers.
  • Maintain awareness of key issues in field of each project; for example, gender issues in African countries, advocacy in Africa, entrepreneurship and sexual health.
