One of the largest telecommunication companies with over 10 years existence is now seeking a dynamic PHP Developer (senior) . the company was founded in South Africa and is now booming into African countries. The purpose of the job is to act as a PHP and C/C++ developer in a team setup or in an operational capacity.

Experience and Education
5+ years experience in software development with relevant knowledge
Competency in PHP and C Diploma in Information Technology, BTech (IT) or Computer Science
Degree a significant advantage
Experience in high transactional development environments is an advantage

Key Responsibility

Development of PHP and C based applications as required by the business.
Maintenance of the existing PHP and C codebase.
Developing code in line with companies methodologies and practices.
Supporting existing applications and the environment in which they run, at times through after hours on call duty.
Contribution to architectural and design discussions and recommendations relating the mandate of your development team or individual assignment.

Core Competencies

Strong communication skills, both verbal and through technical documentation.
Proficient with Linux and the LAMP stack as well as C/C++ software development in a Linux environment.
An working understanding of relevant web technologies.
A working understanding of databases technologies is required.
Ability to work in a team as well individually.
A customer focus that ensure effective response to the needs of the development department’s customers.
