An exciting opportunity for a Snr PHP Developer to join a dynamic, forward
thinking gaming company. Minimum 7 years solid experience

As this is a gaming company the developer will be dealing with many third
party integrations as well as maintain current system and develop and
introduce new games that are designed. It is complex and integrated but it's
definitely challenging. They are also planning to introduce a sports betting
site that will offer betting on very different games as they don't believe
in doing things the traditional manner.

The system is currently Python/Django based but due to an increase of load
they need to think PHP so there will be some interesting months ahead over
and above the norm.

The person they are looking for will be responsible for a developing team as
well as working with a Senior Architect and Bi.

Outline is as follows but not limited to:

* Determining the longer-term strategies or tactics needed to deliver
the highest quality services

* Determining the structure of the team for optimal performance;

* Managing day-to-day tasks, vetting technical decision-making and
handling staff issues

* Ensuring that business risks are mitigated through proper project
planning, contingency planning and efficient co-ordination and execution

* Encouraging technical specialization, with sufficient job/project
rotation and project standardization to mitigate people risks

* Ensuring that the technical competence of the team remains relevant
with the advances in technology and that staff career aspirations are met;

* Motivation of staff, ensure job specifications are relevant and
KPAs are challenging, and ongoing performance management is conducted.

Business Interaction

* Regular interaction with all key personnel throughout the business
operations to receive and provide feedback

* Understand the business processes and the key challenges faced by
the various divisions, and vice-versa

* Educate business as to how they can better utilize the available
development capacity and systems;

* Agree and manage specific actions that the team needs to take to
provide improved service to the business operations

* Project Execution: All projects to be planned and documented, with
relevant functional and technical documentation that will assist with future
maintenance;

* Ensure business risk is identified and contingencies are planned to
minimize possible outages

* Conduct post-implementation reviews to identify success of projects
and areas for improvement in future projects.
