Opportunity to join global Software Product Company based in Stellenbosch. Senior Product Analyst is responsible for defining products that enable their enterprise customers to get the most from their digital consumer channels. Develop a product vision based on market research, customer feedback and emerging industry trends and translating that into a product roadmap that gives the organisation a sustainable competitive advantage.

The Product Analyst functions as Product Owner in an agile environment, working with the development team to execute the roadmap.

Requirements
• Engineering or relevant IT degree
• 8+ years’ experience in software development primarily in an Agile environment
• Experience in financial services, telecommunications or mobile industry
• Systems engineering and/or requirements management exposure will be an advantage

Responsibilities
Developing Product Requirements:
• With input from various company stakeholders, and drawing on in-depth market research and interaction with Analysts and partners, develop a consistent vision for new products and features.
• Engage with current and future customers to understand their needs and challenges.
• Build a business case and conduct feasibility studies to validate product vision.
• Build a feature roadmap of incremental development to provide quick wins while not sacrificing strategic alignment.
• Translate the high level feature vision into detailed product/business requirements to direct the development teams.
• Work very closely with the development team in iterating through the requirements to achieve a good balance between feasibility/ease of implementation and uncompromising client value.
Function as Product Owner in an agile environment
• Backlog Grooming:
With input from various company stakeholders, the Product Analyst has the primary responsibility to build, prune, and maintain the development backlog.
• Support Sprint Planning:
During the sprint planning meeting, the Product Owner is the main source for user story detail and priorities.
• Just-in-time story elaboration:
Backlog items are elaborated into user stories for implementation. While any team member can write user stories and acceptance criteria, the Product Owner carries the primary responsibility.
• Maintaining product feature baseline:
The Product Analyst is the person primarily responsible for accepting stories into the product baseline assuring the quality of the product by evaluating its fitness for use.
Public facing documentation
• Own the full set of public product documentation. These range from knowledgebase articles and white papers to implementation guides and API specs.
• Support marketing in the development of press releases and marketing collateral
