Job Title: Senior Professional Nurse

One of our clients is looking for a Senior Professional Nurse to fill a 5-month contract position. The main purpose of the assignment will be to assist with mass medical screening on in-house wellness days. The successful candidate will be required to perform Senior Nursing duties, supervise enrolled nursing assistants, generate reports and undertake screening tests and HCT.

Minimum skills and educational requirements:
• Diploma in General Nursing, Midwifery and Community Nursing Science
• Certificate/ diploma in Primary Health Care an advantage
• Certificate in Occupational Health, Registered with South African Nursing Council
• Valid motor vehicle driver’s license (Code EB)
• Certificate in Audiometry
• Certificate in Pharmacology for nurses
• Certificate in dispensing medicines
• Certificate in Spirometry an advantage
• Minimum of 2- 3 year experience in a similar position

Duties include:
• Provide and manage primary medical care services at clinic level
• Plan and execute a health promotion programme
• Plan and execute an effective wellness management programme
• Provide an efficient, legally compliant occupational health and hygiene service
• Oversee the First Aid and Injury on Duty management at clinic level
• Manage clinical and administrative policies and procedures
• Manage assess and evaluate subordinates at clinic level
• Keep up to date with current trends and standards in the Occupational Health Field
