Job Purpose: To manage overall execution of the Capex budget of the company as well as lead specific projects within deadlines.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Qualifications required fulfilling the role
• Relevant tertiary Engineering Degree Qualification (i.e. Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical)
• PMP certification

Specific Work Experience, Knowledge and Skills required fulfilling the role
• Good communication skills
• Minimum 10 years work experience within Engineering including minimum 5 years in a project management role or similar within a process manufacturing environment.
• Computer literacy is essential (MS-Office, SAP)
• Ability to work with and interpret AutoCAD/Engineering drawings.
• Using Excel for Projects (not MS Projects)
• Excellent supervisory skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Assertive and good communication skills
• Team player
• Good planning skills
• Good safety knowledge and application thereof in project environments
• Excellent planning skills essential

Key Accountabilities
• Planning and development of medium term capital projects for 3- 5 year period
• New project management from planning to the final stage of the project
• Specific project management from design to implementation
• Ensure compliance to group financial / procurement procedures
• Management of project safety compliance to group and legal South African standards
• Develop and continuously improve contractor control on site in line with safety requirements
• In conjunction with the relevant departments, define and propose annual CAPEX budget
• Manage annual CAPEX plan and ensure spend is in line with budget
• Ensure best practice project management tools are utilised for all site projects, (engineering design, project planning etc.)
• In conjunction with the relevant departments, develop training plans, operating procedures & maintenance procedures for all new equipment and infrastructure improvements on site
• Support the development of the site WCM program taking responsibility for pillar ownership as required.
• Liaise with group engineering and group process experts to ensure the site implements equipment and process best practices as identified
• Set the standards of WCM early equipment management at all sites
• Develop and manage drawing registers and control systems for all sites
• Develop and manage projects of mechanical , electrical ,civil nature for all sites
