The above vacancy exists at Advisory Services Company based in Secunda. This position is a Fixed Term Contract valid for 6 months with an option to renew.
PURPOSE OF JOB:
The Senior Project Specialist, will be expected to develop and implement business solutions for SMEs. This will include the creation and implementation of a business model as well as development of business processes for SMEs. The candidate will also be expected to review SMEs applications for finance and to assist them to adhere to the systems and processes of the funder. They will also be expected to work with the SMEs to monitor loan repayment. The Senior Project Specialist will be responsible for providing a holistic mentoring and coaching services to SMMEs on an individual or group basis with the aim of improving company growth and sustainability
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensure that projects are sufficiently and efficiently implemented
• Develop, review and implement business models and processes for SMEs
• Review SME funding applications
• Assist SMEs interested in submitting funding applications to the funder to ensure that they comply with funding requirements.
• Monitor loan repayments and alert the Project Leader and Project Specialist where an SME fails to comply and may need support
• Provide financial and budget management support to SMEs
• Review, implement and monitor operations to ensure industry best practices and legislative compliance
• Also assist in the implementation of socio- supplier- and enterprise development programmes
• Update project plans onto project management systems and manage timelines
• Write reports
Relevant Experience:
• Must hold a relevant qualification in economics, business or entrepreneurial studies
• Must have at least 5 years prior work experience at senior level
• Experience in Enterprise and Supplier Development Programme design will be beneficial
• sound knowledge and experience in small business development.
• Experience in business analysis and strategy development
• Must be passionate about economic and socio economic developmental issues
• Experience in starting / running own business will be an advantage
• A passion for small business development
Educational Background:
• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in economics, business or entrepreneurial studies • Project Management Qualification
Additional Requirements
• Valid Code 08 or 10 drivers licence, own transport advantageous
• Fluent English speaking and writing and a local language
