Our client is looking to employ a Senior Riser Engineer to be based in either Cape Town or Port Elizabeth

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in related Technical, Commercial field or equivalent. Mechanical based qualification preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical capacity within an Industrial or Offshore environment, with an additional 5 years of experience in a leadership role. Total expected experience is approximately 10 Years.
Must include experience in Project Management, customer relationship management and employee growth and development processes.
Good knowledge of either Welding Processes, Non Destructive Testing, Mechanical Fitting, with an understanding of the other 2 disciplines, as well as experience within the Offshore Oil and Gas drilling environment is a significant benefit.
Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Office – Excel, Word and Outlook, and Microsoft Project)

Duties

Lead and manage team of project engineers.
Ensures that all customer owned equipment is inspected and repaired to the correct procedures and standards.
Ensures that all customer enquiries/queries are responded to in a timeous manner.
Supply customer quotes/proposals as and when required.
Review of costing/quotations from riser team and approval of quotes.
Client liaison as and when required.
Supply technical input/support to riser project engineers. Provide and management overall engineering disposition responsibility.
Manage existing equipment fleet and identify any additional requirements.
Planning and prioritizing of project resources.
Ensures that all project commercial responsibilities is adhered to. (Budget, Cost analysis, documentation etc.)
Ensure that all the organization’s activities and operations are carried out in compliance with the laws governing such business operations.
Ensure the responsibilities, authorities and accountability of all direct subordinates are defined and understood.
Manage and develop staff.
