Senior SAS Analyst Location: Gauteng (Depending on your preference, please state when applying) Type: Permanent Salary: R400,000 – R600,000 per annum (Negotiable on experience and qualifications) Main Purpose: To add insight and commercial value into company’s client business through analysis of customer data. Responsibilities: • Work directly with clients and internal client teams to provide insight to help enhance a clients business and solve their business problems through the analysis of customer data, using data-mining techniques and statistical modelling. • Project manages, plans, resources, and delivers a variety of analysis based projects (both personally and overseeing the project delivery of less experienced analysts) to a high quality and within a timely manner, communicating progress to other company team members and clients. • Have an understanding of the client’s business objectives, identifying opportunities where necessary, and is responsible for the interpretation and distillation of these into analytical briefs to ensure that the analysis produced is relevant and adds real value. • Interprets data and uses creative problem solving and logical thinking to produce commercially viable and client relevant business recommendations for every piece of work produced. • Is comfortable in front of clients, can lead meetings and present results and recommendations (to analytical and non-analytical audiences) at client meetings. • Implementation, teaching and development of the company customer analytical methods; responsible for ensuring that the team uses the correct methodology. • Produce reports and presentations which are succinct, meaningful and actionable. • Work as part of the company team, proactively communicating with other internal teams the benefits of customer insight analysis and integrating this into technological and marketing strategies. • Work effectively, both independently and as a member of a team, take responsibility for leading a team: line managing, motivating and developing staff. Line management responsibilities include objective setting, running reviews & appraisals, offering training, providing feedback and undertaking performance management where necessary. • Responsible for adhering to company Quality Assurance processes, ensuring that all work produced by themselves and their team is checked thoroughly by a relevant member of the team and assisting other analysts with the checking of work. • An expert user of Base SAS and Microsoft Office packages to produce customer insight. • Contribute to proposals, pitches and new business opportunities. • To represent the company in a professional manner at all times and take pride in yourself, the company and the work we produce. To be a role model for more junior analysts. Desired Skills & Experience: • Degree with significant statistical content • Must have previous experience with SAS analytics • At least 5 years relevant experience • A genuine interest in the applications of analysis for business benefit • An understanding of direct marketing applications and execution • Excellent communications skills • Experience of working with large customer databases • Ability to work as part of a small, highly motivated team
