Senior Site Manger – Residential Developments

R35 - 38 000 Cost to Company (including Medical Aid and Pension fund)

The Requirements
• 5 years previous experience working as a as a Senior Site Manager with a reputable housing contractor or developer in residential new build projects.
• Proven Track Record supporting the construction and completion of projects on time and in budget
• Matric + BSC Building or similar qualification will be given preference
• Broad technical construction knowledge
• Confident in the use of IT packages and systems
• NHBRC – National Homebuilding Regulation Council Affiliated (Preferable)
• Own Transport and Valid Driver’s License
• Experience in measuring plans and that can compile a Bill of Quantities

The Job
• Supervising sites on a day to day basis, reporting to the project and contracts manager. you will be the first point of contact for the Sub-Contractors and Assistant site managers.
• Execute the works in accordance with the layout provided by the Contract Manager
• Ensure the site establishment is to the standard expected from the company and is maintained as such.
Program:
• Study the project program to gain an in depth understanding
• Know and understand the sequence of the works
• Know interim completion dates
• Know the practical, works and final completion dates
• Weekly produce and submit to the Contract Manager
• Monitor progress of the works on the project to ensure the program is being achieved
• Immediately notify the Contract Manager of any slippage on program and submit a recovery program to recover time lost
• Notify the Contract Manager and Project QS of any delays
• Monitor and manage sequence of the works. Ensure a logical sequence of works at all times to avoid abortive works or re-works.
Quality Assurance / Control
• Implement the quality plan on the project
• Complete all the required quality checks on the project
• Complete, inspect, sign off and file all the required check sheets

The Person
• You will be expected to demonstrate a clear understanding of the construction management role, procurement and management of subcontractors and have a proven track record of exceeding targets and achieving high scores in health and safety and environmental management
• Strong People Management Skills
• Mature, energetic with strong technical construction knowledge
• Solid Site Management and Construction Management Skills are essential
