Formal Chef Qualification

At least 3 years’ experience in the same or similar position within a four or three star hotel/ Lodge.

Key Responsibilities, Skills & Abilities:

Under the general guidance and supervision of the Executive Chef, within the limits of established policies,

assists in the overseeing and directing of all aspects of the Kitchen.

Assists the Executive Chef in the supervision, control and coordination of the Kitchen personnel;

Assumes full responsibility for the kitchen when the Executive Chef are absent;

Checks and supervises the methods of food preparation;

Maintain the highest level of standards in the preparation of food items, as well as the service and presentation of food;

Identifies and trains staff members to ensure that the company standards are met.

Must have a strong cooking background and have a creative flair in all aspects of food preparation

Must be strong in hygiene control and safety procedures in the kitchen

Must be familiar with menu planning

Must be familiar with the costing and control of food and relevant stock

Must have good communication skills at all levels

Salary R 22 000  with company benefits
