Title: Senior Specialist: Strategic Projects
Short Description: The role is responsible for identifying, analysing, prioritising, planning, executing, monitoring, finalising and reviewing strategic supply chain projects. Examples of strategic projects include: internal self-improvement SC projects (e.g. supply chain automation); strategic initiatives (e.g. business intelligence build); new client implementations; strategic sourcing; client projects.
Tasks:
1 Qualify Projects: Identify possible projects and build a business case to justify the project.
2 Implement Projects: Once proposed projects are approved, implement the project as per the approved plan and against the agreed targets
3 Operationalise Projects: Ensure that once a project is implemented, the benefits or results become a part of operations. (e.g. Business buys against an implemented contract.
4 Ensure continuous improvement: create a culture of continuous improvement by ensuring that lessons learnt on projects are transferred to new projects.
5 Manage a team of consultants and technical specialists.
Qualifications:
Higher Education & Training Minimum Bachelor’s Degree. (Supply Chain / Procurement / Commercial/ MBA/ Industrial Engineer / Technical qualification is preferred.)
Professional Registration/Trade Any Supply Chain and procurement related registration is preferred. E.g. CIPSA
School Grade Min Matric
Licenses Min Code 8 Drivers License
Experience Procurement/Supply Chain, Project Management, Data Analysis, Experienced Negotiator, Human Resource Management, Management Consulting is advantageous.
Technical/Core Training Project Management Commerce
Data Analytics Contract and Supplier Management
Procurement, especially Strategic Sourcing General knowledge in Finance, Law, Auditing
Negotiation Skills Human Resource Management

IT Training (General MS etc.) Advanced MS Excel MS Word
Advanced MS Power Point MS Project
Other data analytics (e.g. SQL) is advantageous SAP
Business Intelligence tools
