Senior SQL Developer - Financial Services (EE/AA)

A fantastic opportunity within a leading Financial Services & Insurance Company awaits skilled SQL Developers with the right attitude!

We are seeking an experienced SQL BI Developer to lead and drive their BI solutions . The ideal candidate should be confident, self-motivated, have solid experience with financial systems and should be comfortable in a client-facing role.

You will meet the following minimum requirements
• Matric and a Degree in Information Systems / Computer Science or Information Technology (non negotiable)
• ITIL Foundation and MS SQL Certifications
• Solid track record (7+ years) with SQL Server 2008/2012 , SQL Server Reporting Services or similar
• Experience with SSRS (2005 & 2008), SSIS (ETL development) and SSAS
• Minimum of 3 years in data warehousing and data analytics
• Exposure to BI technologies such as MS Power BI or Qlikview.
• Strong MS Excel skills and especially experience with Power Pivot
• 7+ years of SQL Development and/or BI Analysis/Development experience
• BI Consulting experience is beneficial (not in-house only)
• A solid understanding of how applications and underlying databases work/integrate
Roles and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Design, develop, maintain and enhance SQL applications/ETL, databases, reports and programs
• Perform data analysis by writing relational and multidimensional database queries
• Extract, transform and load (ETL) any form of database. Pervasive SQL and Microsoft SQL systems in general.
• De-normalise, consolidate and reconcile systems into a single version of the truth. Existing services developed with .Net and SSIS
• Develop and support SQL server objects for a variety of technical requirements depending on a per client basis
• Design new and support existing reports based mostly on SSRS and Excel/SharePoint platforms.
• Perform impact analysis on proposed Database changes
• Analyse / problem solving to identify data issues arising from faulty system functionality
