Senior Supply Chain Manager (Manufacturing) – AA/EE Opportunity | Nigel, Gauteng

A global manufacturing company is seeking an experienced supply chain manager to fill this exciting vacancy.

You will be responsible for responsible for all aspects of procurement, supplier scheduling, production planning, inventory control, logistics, warehousing, and distribution in the Southern African environment.

You will meet the following minimum requirements/criteria:
• Degree in Accounting or Operations management and at least 15 years of experience in a fast-paced supply chain and/or manufacturing environment (multi-disciplinary experience a plus)
• Professional work experience with facility expansion and project management
• Strong working & implementation knowledge of ERP systems and IT systems in relation to manufacturing companies
• The ability to evaluate and understand financial reports
• Knowledge of ISO and Lean Manufacturing concepts
• International corporate experience in a supply chain role as well as effective cost and people integration

• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project and Power Point)
• Experience with training, coaching, mentoring and global best practice sharing
• Familiarity with agricultural sector products, processes and knowledge of how they impact growers would be a strong advantage.

Major Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Oversee responsible supply chain activities to ensure company strategy, goals and objectives are met
• Develop and implement integrated supply chain strategies to improve service levels
• Ensure collaboration between Supply Chain and Operations in new product development projects
• Develop plans to manage capacity and capability of the entire supply chain
• Develop and implement processes for warehousing and distribution activities in support of customer service levels
• Projects budgets; review and ensure that appropriate financial metrics are monitored and that proper fiscal controls are in place
• Organize the Supply Chain plans from the sales forecast and sales history as they relate to order projects
• Define and implement plant supply chain needs, planning for facility, equipment and human resource capital and growth
• Assist site to ultimately achieve Center of Excellence status •

Location: Successful incumbent will primarily be based in Nigel, Gauteng.
