My client, an International Online Gambling company, based in Century City, is seeking to employ a Senior Systems Engineer to join their team. Reporting to the IT Systems Manager, the successful candidate will as a member of the Systems Engineer team is required to effectively design and manage the organisations Information Technology Systems.
Requirements:
·         A Relevant Information Technology tertiary qualification and Microsoft Certifications
·         Minimum 10 years’ experience in the Information Technology industry using Microsoft Technologies
·         Previous experience in 24/7 E-commerce Environment
·         Proven track record of initiating, designing and implementing major infrastructure solutions single handily
·         Proven first-hand experience with networking technologies including Switching, Routing, Firewalling, Load Balancing
·         Proven experience in using scripting or software solutions to automate or reduce administrative work
·         Ability to translate business needs into possible viable technology solutions
·         Project management skills with proven experience in handling big system migrations or implementation working both as a member in a team as well as on his/her own
 
Responsibilities:
 
·         Assist with design and implementation of key infrastructure projects
·         Documentation and handover of these completed projects to System Administration team for day to day management
·         Proactively research new technologies and test them for feasibility
·         Automate manual processes to reduce IT Administration workload
·         Work with engineering team to find ways to improve early detection of failure within the infrastructure
·         Work with other technology to teams to turn ideas and challenges into infrastructure solutions and implement as required
·         Resolve complicated operational issues timeously and provide documentation on resolution procedure to support teams
