Our client requires the services of a suitably qualified, well-motivated and results driven candidate to take up the role of a Senior System Engineer.

Purpose of the role:

The individual focuses on the systems of systems level understanding of problems and finding solutions to hard problems. The incumbent will be responsible for requirements analysis, architecture, verification and validation and systems engineering management, as well as leading performance analysis and validation of models within the company.

Description of responsibilities:

Ability to conceptualize problem-definition and problem-solving in the company
Systems Engineering - Scoping, requirements analysis, architecture ,
verification and validation and systems engineering management
Coordinate with clients and subject matter experts in various disciplines and transferring knowledge to engineers and analysts
Oversee technical work that includes a significant portion of modelling and simulation
Establish and grow effective relationships with specific clients
Lead local business development efforts in the inter-operability and capability management domains

Qualification and Experience required:

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering (computer, electronic, industrial engineering
disciplines
Preferably a Master’s degree in either engineering, engineering management or system engineering;
A minimum of five to ten years’ systems engineering experience in the military domain with specific exposure to Capability Management
In-depth knowledge of systems engineering approaches from requirements, architecture, design and analysis of complex systems to system life-cycles
Master’s degree in computer engineering or computer science would be advantageous
Experience in the following would be advantageous
Systems engineering tools, e.g. Enterprise Architect
Model-based engineering
Research and development for the defense industry
Good technical problem solving and interpersonal skills are essential
A strong analytical capability and a scientific approach to problem-solving
Enthusiastic, self-motivated and a definite self-starter
Independent worker and a team player in an unstructured environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Willingness to work in military research environment that serves both local and international client and stakeholders
Establish and grow effective relationships with specific clients
Work with a team of experts in their respective disciplines
A track record of delivering on brief, on budget and on time while working under pressure is essential
