Key responsibilities:
• Implement operational changes to the ICT infrastructure and applications to ensure
proper compliance with release authorisation.
• Oversee back office administration to ensure proper server/service monitoring and
administration, back-ups and job scheduling according to business needs and ICT
best practice standards to ensure availability and accessibility of ICT infrastructure in
accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Monitor and report on the capacity thresholds of the ICT infrastructure to ensure
availability and accessibility of ICT infrastructure in accordance with SLAs.
• Monitor and report on the service and systems availability to ensure availability and
accessibility of ICT infrastructure in accordance with SLAs.
• Maintain the proper configuration of the data centre to ensure availability and
accessibility of ICT infrastructure in accordance with SLAs.
• Provide specialised technical analysis and support to ensure effective internal and
external services.
• Implement ICT infrastructure and applications related to the relevant disciplines as
and when required by the ICT Infrastructure Projects team to ensure the availability,
accessibility and utilisation of infrastructure in line with business needs.
• Contribute to ICT Infrastructure Projects where required to ensure the required
quality of output within time, costs and given constraints.
• Provide guidance and technical leadership related to operation and configuration of
ICT infrastructure in order to develop junior staff to ensure high calibre ICT personnel
who are able to achieve performance objectives in support of the ICT mission and
vision.
• Participate as part of ICT Infrastructure Operations team in the review and
development of ICT standards and procedures and best practices required to ensure
the availability, accessibility and utilisation of infrastructure in line with business
needs.
Qualifications, skills and experience:
• A Bachelor’s degree in information technology or equivalent technical certification
with a minimum of six years’ relevant experience in the field.
• Certification should include at least one of the following:
o CNE-NW, NE OES.
• An MSCE together with one of the aforementioned will be advantageous.
• Experience in administering and solving problems on NetWare, Linux (Redhat
and SLES) and Microsoft Server systems, e-Directory, GroupWise and Back-up
solutions.
• Experience in administering and solving problems on Microsoft servers that host
the PeopleSoft application will be advantageous.
• Working technical knowledge of networks, desktop and other relevant interfacing
ICT systems and discipline(s).
• Peer recognition and/or acknowledgment for relevant ICT discipline(s).
• Project management basics.
• Knowledge of process control, enhancement and continuous improvement
processes.
• MIS knowledge and reporting skills.
• People management and leadership skills.
• Sound communication skills.
