Senior Technician position is available with a great company in the Durban area. The client is looking for someone with strong experience in Administration, leadership characteristics, self-motivated and a high sense of urgency and a team player.

Qualifications and Experience:
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience overall Linux and Scripting experience is essential
• PHP, Maria DB (MySQL), HTML / CSS, JavaScript.
• Experts in system administration under Linux and must be able to administer and support servers without supervision.
• Skill must include the ability to automate administration tasks using scripting as appropriate required.

Desired Skills and Experience
• Linux , Windows, Apple
• Linux system administration , Installations, maintenance and security updates
• Web server (Apache & PHP)
• Database server (Maria DB / MySQL)
• Other services (DNS, FTP, Mail, SSH, etc.)
• Automation & tools ? Strong scripting skills in at least one language (Bash, Perl, PHP, Python, etc.)
• Use of software revision control
• Networking ? Configuration & troubleshooting e.g. wireless, routing issues, TCP/IP issues etc.
• Security (Firewall, etc.)
• Planning & analysis
• Agile methodologies
• Backups and disaster recovery
