SENIOR CATEGORY BUYER – NELSPRUIT:

Management & control of the category in terms of buying, stockholding, service levels & pricing.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Grade 12 (with Maths and/or Accounting)
Purchasing/Marketing/Management tertiary qualification
+/-5 years: Buying/FMCG experience
Strong Negotiating & Interpersonal skills
Strong Computer literacy
Thorough knowledge of buying systems & processes
Must be able to thrive in a competitive and pressurized environment
Must operate independently, but within confines of a team
Self-starter, independent & self-motivated
MAIN DUTIES:
Daily analysis of the key statistics
Drive sales (normal, promotions and trading)
Manage recoveries in line with budget
Manage margin deliveries for the category
Compile Training Needs Analysis for your direct report
Conduct performance reviews with direct report
Conduct strategic planning meetings
Manage staff requirements by verifying attendance, shift requirements, recruitment and appointment of staff
Align Supplier strategy with company’s strategy
Negotiate deals, pricing, promotional pricing and new product lines
Pricing competitiveness, manage pricing policy

R40,000 - R50,000 CTC
