SENIOR WAREHOUSE MANAGER - EE - (FMCG)

We are currently recruiting for a qualified and experience Warehouse Manager (senior level) for a large FMCG concern based in Port Elizabeth. The main purpose of this role will be to plan, direct, manage and coordinate warehouse activities of a critical large scale operation in support of the company’s customer service objectives while complying with all relevant legislations. Integrate objectives with an established group of service provider business partners. Lead and direct operational planning and execution, manage senior warehouse team personnel, logistics systems and direct daily operations. Continuously drive efficiency improvements and management of execution as measured through the adherence to plan, whilst driving down warehousing cost. This is an Employment Equity appointment.

Requirements will include:
Minimum qualification - Diploma in Warehousing/Logistics/Supply Chain Management
Have experience and knowledge of Supply Chain, Warehousing and Distribution management systems
Minimum 4 to 5 years’ experience in large Warehouse (large structure)
Knowledge and experience within the FMCG environment
Experience with cold storage or perishable stock will be an advantage
Budget management and implementation
Knowledge of WM9 will be an advantage

Responsibilities:
Plan and coordinate the daily activities of the warehouse team through an optimised operational structure, agreed job descriptions and established measures of success.
On a daily basis analyse operational execution results, understand the reason for deviations and action corrective measures in a collaborative manner
Continuously develop and drive strategies in collaboration with all internal and external stakeholders to achieve all required performance indicators
In conjunction with the national optimisation team investigate and study leading edge solutions to further improve performance results and maximize customers service experience
Ensure adherence to OHS ACT, BCEA legislation and use the company’s disciplinary guidelines as a medium to drive improved results
Ensure that the company is professionally represented by its ambassadors (warehouse staff relevance) through training, dress code rules and other relevant interventions
Nurture a mature and motivated staff complement through continuous training and engagement forums, interacting with staff at all organisational levels
Build a collaborative relationship with the regional and national sales teams to ensure the relationship drive the company’s customer service objectives with a mature ability in finding the balance between customer service and a highly cost and efficiency driven environment
Build and maintain sustainable relationships with all customers to ensure warehouse efficiency measures and cost achievement results are at optimal levels
Manage and control cost through analysing daily, weekly and monthly performance measurements and management reports
Monitoring and management of product storage, and waste (losses, obsolescence, dumps, and related costs)
Ensure customer service excellence by storing and loading quality products through proper cold chain management.
General site maintenance and housekeeping
Statistically analyze movement per SKU to optimize storage location and warehouse utilization and –efficiency
Conduct studies/review to improve overall operational efficiency
Develop and review standard operating procedures for your area
Ensure export requirements are met and non-conformances communicated
Ensure re-supply stock are managed and order requirements are met
Ensure Assets are maintained and accounted for at all time
