Our client, based in Cape Town, is searching for a Senior Web Developer. The ideal candidate for this role will be responsible to work within the web development team to deliver enhancements, new initiatives and resolve live issues with a full understanding of the standard systems development life cycle (define, build, test) and a track record of delivering changes, enhancements and new functionality.

Key Performance Areas:
Development:
• Deliver solutions according to the agreed project timelines
• Adhere to coding standards defined by the technical management team
• Ensure accurate scoping and allocation of time for development required

System Support:
• Support and maintain production system(s)
• Be available for rotational standby/ support
• Ensure that all support queries are logged and attend to system queries according to agreed timelines
• Continuously identify and solve technical problems

Mentor Junior team members:
• Mentor and provide guidance/ assistance to more junior members of the team as and when needed
• Provide on the job training to ensure the on-going development of staff within the team
• Demonstrate an ability to develop effective teams, drive efficiencies and always lead by example

Requirements:
• A 3 year Diploma and/ or Degree with Information Technology being the core subject
• 5 years’ experience in C#, ASP.Net, T-SQL and SQL Server 2005 or newer
• 3 to 4 years’ experience working with frontend web design programming eg. JavaScript, HTML, CSS
• 2 to 3 years’ experience in web services
• Knowledge and understanding of the Full Project Development Life Cycle
• A strong understanding of e-Commerce, payment solutions, merchandising and content management systems
• An e-Commerce development background working on customer facing and/ or transactional online shops will be advantageous
• SharePoint knowledge or experience will be an added bonus
