Job Description:

The Senior Web Developer is a member of the Information & Communications Technology (ICT) team reporting to the Head of ICT. This role will be responsible for all web site development which will include the enhancement of our public facing company website and our customer portal where our customers interact with us during Sales and Service Delivery.
Develop and enhance our customer portal
Develop and enhance customer questionnaire
Develop and enhance website which is currently a WordPress site.
Develop and enhance any other web-based solutions as required
Ensure that all solutions developed offers high quality User Experience.
Ensure that all solutions adhere to best practise and coding standards that will be easy to maintain and future proof.

Qualifications:

Relevant tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electronic Engineering or another related field required. Degree will take preference over Diploma/ Certificate.
5-8 years Experience in Web Development, Java-script/ React/ Redux/ HTML, CSS and PHP is required.
Familiar with the Software Development Life Cycle
Proficient with best practice source control utilising source control tools like Github.
Understanding of the importance of Customers experience and ease of use and insight into Customer /User behaviour,
Demonstrated ability to apply well developed analysis to solve complex problems and/or deliver innovative solutions.
Demonstrated experience in delivery of testing services, and a detailed understanding of system development lifecycle in particular the role of transition assurance in successful delivery of projects and releases.
Demonstrated ability for systems integration, with solid experience in system specification and design.
Solid communication skills, both verbal and written (English & Afrikaans) with sound grammar and spelling. The ability to write clearly, courteously and professionally as well as heightened e-mail etiquette.
Demonstrated ability to distil complex issues into succinct and easily understood language that convey key messages successfully at all levels of the organisation.
Proven ability to build a rapport with stakeholders at all levels across the business.
Strong interpersonal skills coupled within a resilient yet enthusiastic life disposition, including the ability to remain calm in dynamic situations.
Demonstrated inclusive, collaborative and engaging approach; including the ability to consult, facilitate, negotiate and influence with a broad range of people at all levels in a medium sized corporate environment.
Ability to work as a team member and contribute towards the success of team goals.
Proven organisational skills including the ability to prioritise work to ensure deadlines are consistently achieved.
Experience managing multiple projects and minor work requests within governance and risk frameworks.
