Our Client in the Automotive Component Manufacturing sector requires the services of a Serial Manufacturing Engineer (EE Position)

Serial Manufacturing Engineer (ME Engineer)

Your challenge
• Seamless launch of new programmes according to sound
Company Program Management deliverables resulting in
trouble free introductions.
• Maintain manufacturing processes with the aim of improving
downtime, scrap and reduction of waste.
• Participate in RFQ’s for new products by using your knowledge
and skills to develop “best practice” processes for manufacturing.
• Support production meetings and define Engineering actions to
improve production KPI’s.
• Supervise & coach a team of Manufacturing Engineering
Technicians in best practices, corporate standards & lessons
learned activities.
• Manage engineering changes by coordinating and guiding the EC
teams from concept to completion.
• Implement new tooling & capital equipment projects from concept
to internal sign-off.
• Develop line layouts using Lean principles with consideration for
ergonomics, material flow and waste elimination.
• To manage PPAP samples & prototypes builds, ensuring best quality
products are manufactured with limited impact of current
production.
• Collaborate with CIP team.
Your profile
•A qualified toolmaker with minimum of 5 years working experience as a toolmaker,
preferably in the automotive component manufacturing industry.
• Formal relevant tertiary qualification will be an added advantage.
•Minimum N4 trade related theory required.
•Previous project management experience is a must.
• Good co-ordination, communication & presentation skills.
• Computer Literate: High competence in MS Office, Projects, CAD.
• Knowledge of metrology (GD&T), TPM, Advanced problem solving
techniques and root cause analysis.
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to people at all levels.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative.
• Logical with strong planning, analytical and organizing skills.
• Experience in procurement of tools, jigs and fixtures.
• Experience in APQP, QPS and FMEAs.
•Working knowledge of catalytic converter process would be an advantage.
• EE candidates will be given preference.
