Position: Service Manager
Salary: R30 000.00 – R40 000.00
Location: Cape Town

Minimum Requirements:
? +5 Years’ Experience in Automotive as a Service Manager
? Motor Industry trade Test
? Driver’s License
? Good communication skills
? Proven track record

Job responsibilities subject but not limited to:

? Maintain effective control of expenses through monthly examination of management accounts to ensure expenditure for the Service Department is in line with budgeted labor sales
? Exceed all targets and labor sale objectives through efficient workshop operations.
? Ensure efficient equipment control, assets control and fluent administration processes.
? Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction and retention
? Ensure compliance with the original equipment manufacturer policies as well as industry guidelines.
? Oversee operations in an auto service unit to ensure compliance with quality standards
? Assign and schedule work duties to auto service staff according to their skills
? Attend workshops and study relevant publications to stay up-to-date with developments in the automotive service industry.
? Conduct price negotiations with clients to reach a favourable bargain for both management and client
? Contact clients and convince them to bring vehicles to their unit for repairs
? Ensure automotive service staff comply with environmental laws and regulations
? Evaluate the performance of automotive service staff in order to acknowledge efficient employees and guide underperforming ones
? Follow up customers to obtain feedback and ensure they are satisfied with received service
? Listen to client complaints and assist in addressing their issues and resolving challenges
? Maintain accurate record of all accounts and relevant financial information
? Monitor inventory to regulate and ensure availability of required vehicle parts
? Oversee the disposal of wastes such as used engine oil, soot to ensure adherence to health and safety laws
? Oversee the hiring and training of an effective auto service team
? Oversee the inspection of automobiles to identify faulty components and facilitate process for repairs
? Oversee the procurement of vehicle parts, automotive equipment and various other items required in an auto service department
? Supervise the activities of automotive service technicians to ensure efficient job performance and timely repairs
? Hiring and supervising all service department personnel, as well as monitoring their performance in servicing customers
? Creating goals and objectives for the department, which includes an annual operating budget and a marketing plan to promote new and repeat business
? Providing training on administrative policies and procedures for all department personnel. Encouraging technicians to keep their skills up-to-date through periodic technical training on new systems and components offered by the automotive manufacturers
? Keeping up-to-date on manufacturer warranty and policy procedures while serving as a liaison with the factory representatives
? Maintaining the highest Customer Service Index (CSI) rating from customers by handling customer complaints immediately and according to dealership policy
? Control resources at a level commensurate with profit requirements and enhanced customer relations.
? Maximize departmental profitability through the sale of labor and associated products to franchise and non-franchise customers.
People Management.
? Supervision of staff, management of performance, discipline and other staff management related functions.
? Ensure Service Department achieves budget objectives through weekly and monthly monitoring and control of accounts, operating controls and composite figures
? Ensure efficient operation of the Service Department through labor utilization, productivity and sales
