Description: A supplier of laboratory equipment requires a service engineer to join their team and be responsible for the service of the company’s instruments including organic, inorganic and metallographic analysers, mass spectrometers and atomic emission spectrometers. Key duties include: installation of new equipment; order and track spare parts when needed for breakdowns; keep track of and ensure timeous execution of all customer service contracts; service and maintenance of client equipment; ensure all administration requests are updated.

Key Requirements: National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry or Electrical Engineering. Experience must include instrumentation background on pressure, flows, temperature and laboratory equipment. Chromatography experience will be an advantage. Excellent computer skills in Microsoft office and related hardware is essential. Driver’s license required. The successful candidate must be willing to travel extensively in South Africa and into Africa.

Must be emotionally intelligent and be able to deal with situations on an individual basis as they work very long hours and travel a lot and on their own; adaptable; self motivated; able to interact professionally with customers at all times.

Remuneration: Negotiable dependent on experience.
