Job Description

Analyse breakdowns of previous shift at the beginning of each shift by evaluating previous corrective measures and allocate resources accordingly
Communicate equipment information and changes to relevant stakeholder to minimize production delays
Conduct Shaft Examinations
Continuously analyse equipment efficiencies to recommend or implementing improvements and changes to maximise equipment utilisation
Coordinate and monitor equipment availability to ensure adherence to production parameters
Ensure that maintenance and repair is actioned on mining shaft sections
Ensure the availability of approved mining layouts and production plans
Over-inspect subordinates in their daily activities to ensure maintenance according to organisational standards and the maintenance requirements
Perform administrative duties to ensure record accuracy and availability, budget compliance and spares availability
Required to work according to the Mine’s Code of Practice, and report any observations of this not being done
Required to work overtime, travel and working in dangerous conditions

Minimum Requirements

Basting Certificate or Onsetter ticket
Foreman Certificate
Matric
At least 5 years (Ideal 7-10 years) as a Shaft Timberman in the mining industry
Computer Literate
Valid drivers licence
Candidate must be able to obtain a Medical Certificate of fitness.
